Shooson coaches by nudging, not annoying

We thought running coaches should help guide you, not interrupt or annoy you. So we built Shooson—a running companion that puts you in control.

Shooson coaches by nudging, not annoying

Have you ever used a running coach app where the constant beeping and alerts from your watch eventually become more annoying than helpful?

Maybe you’re feeling great and want to push a little harder, or you’re tackling a long hill where your pace naturally drops. Yet your watch keeps buzzing at you until it starts to interrupt the enjoyment of your run.

At Shooson, we felt the same way. Every runner is different, so instead of forcing one coaching style on everyone, we let you decide what counts as a helpful nudge—and what doesn’t.

Coaching that nudges, not nags

Every run in Shooson has a primary focus, such as heart rate, pace, distance, or time. Each target includes a small tolerance window that you’re aiming to stay within.

Many running apps alert you the moment you leave that window. While that can sometimes be useful, it can also become frustrating on long climbs or when you intentionally decide to speed up or slow down.

With Shooson, you’re in control. You choose how you’d like to be notified, and you can even change your preference for each individual run.

The Shooson companion watch app currently supports these notification options (Settings > Watch Target Alerts):

  • A single vibration after 30 seconds, followed by a vibration and audible alert after 60 seconds (default)
  • Vibration only (no audible alerts)
  • Audible only (no vibration)
  • No vibration or audible alerts

Choose the notifications that work best for you.

Whatever option you choose, you’ll still benefit from Shooson’s colour-coded guidance on your watch. Green, amber, and red indicators let you quickly glance at your progress and decide for yourself whether any action is needed.

It’s your run. Shooson simply helps you stay on track without getting in your way.

This is just one of the ways we’re rethinking running coaching. Over the coming weeks we’ll be sharing more features designed to give runners more control—not more interruptions.
