See your distance travelled in real terms

ShoosOn turns your lifetime running distance into a journey through real places, giving every kilometre a little more meaning.

See your distance travelled in real terms

Three 5 km runs a week becomes 780 km over a year.

That is an impressive number, but it is not an easy one to picture. Is it across a county? Across a country? How far would all those familiar loops take you if they formed one continuous journey?

Landmarks is our answer. It turns your lifetime running distance into real places, starting from home and travelling further out as your total grows.

Your usual routes may be local. Added together, they can take you much further than you think.

How landmarks work

Set a home location and ShoosOn finds a series of real landmarks at increasing distances from it. Your runs do not need to head towards those places. Every completed kilometre simply moves your lifetime journey forward.

  • Pass a distance milestone and its landmark unlocks.
  • See the date each place was reached.
  • Follow the journey across the map as the milestones move further from home.
  • Keep the next destination in sight, with the remaining distance shown clearly.
  • Continue beyond the first set as ShoosOn finds new places further afield.

The result is not a suggested route or a claim that you literally ran from one landmark to another. It is a way of translating cumulative distance into something more human than a number on a statistics screen.

What does 500 km look like?

The real ShoosOn landmarks screen using a synthetic Paris profile. No personal running data is shown.

At a glance, that runner can see eight unlocked landmarks, the 500 km total, and the next milestone another 500 km away. Scroll down and the journey becomes a timeline: each unlocked place has a distance and a date, while future destinations remain hidden until they are reached.

That makes the next run feel connected to all the ones before it. A short Tuesday loop is not just another 5 km. It is 5 km closer to revealing what comes next.

More than a total

A total like 500 km is easy to skim past. A map of real places is easier to remember.

That is the point of landmarks: to give long-term consistency a shape. It celebrates the accumulation, including all the unremarkable runs that rarely earn a medal or a personal best but still carry you forward.

Because sometimes “another 5 km” is exactly that. Sometimes it is also the final stretch to somewhere new.
